  • President

    Leanne is an engineer by day, mother all the time, and everything in between! With a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering degree from the University of Alberta, the love of building sustainable communities came from working 12 years at Stantec as a Senior Associate Project Manager. Leanne loved helping developers build a plethora of communities within the City of Edmonton, so eventually she wanted to be the one to shape the City by creating vibrant communities for the people who spend their savings on where they call home. In 2017, she joined Rohit Group of Companies and loves the award-winning communities she as created with them so far as a Senior Project Manager.​

    When Leanne is not busy working, she loves to spend time with her little girl and enjoys being involved in the community. Leanne is a mental health advocate, woodworker, gardener, golfer, hiker, camper, and even a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity! She has also mastered playing the piano, writes her own music, and was a lead singer and guitarist in a band. Leanne is soft spoken, inclusive, and will always lend an ear to anyone who needs one.

  • Treasurer

    Crystal started in the land development industry working as a scraper operator for 10 years and grader operator for three. Being promoted to a foreman in 2009 was short-lived as she quickly moved up to superintendent four years later. Through hard work and dedication, she was again promoted in 2016 to become the Construction Manager at Weinrich Contracting Limited. Crystal is involved with the day-to-day construction activities - involving managing projects, going to site meetings, planning, contract management, invoicing, and much more. ​

    Seeing the beautiful and successful woman that Crystal has become, you would have never guessed that she did not graduate high school. In 2004, Crystal was a single mother who decided to upgrade her high school courses and go to university. She completed her schooling with a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology. So why is she not in a biology career? Crystal's first summer of university, she works as an operator in the land development industry to pay for university and the rest is history. Crystal has never looked back and enjoys spending her summers in land development.

  • Vice President

    Jenn Squires always knew she wanted to build homes and communities. Knowing this was not a thriving industry where she grew up, she moved to Edmonton to start her career and immediately started working within the multi-family construction and land development industry. Now, with a background in Architectural Engineering Technology plus 12 years of estimating and project management experience, Jenn is realizing that goal. As a Land Development Manager with Mattamy Homes Alberta, Jenn’s role is to build roads, parks, and deliver serviced lots but her passion is giving attention to the details that really shape the feeling of community. ​

    Jenn has spent her whole career in a male dominated industry and has almost always been the only woman in the room. This may be why she was drawn to the Edmonton Women in Land Development (YEG WILD) non-profit organization. As someone who is passionate about leading authentically and developing lasting connections in her work and in her personal life, she is so excited be a member of this group and support its mission. ​

    In her free time, you’ll find Jenn working on a renovation project at home, being terrible at softball or golf, enjoying Edmonton’s incredible river valley, or camping and hiking in the mountains with her wife and dog.

    Kayla has been part of the land development industry for over 18 years. For the past ten years, she has worked with DES Engineering. Kayla has held numerous roles in both the contracting and consulting worlds which has helped her along the way. ​

    She has experience with estimating, project management and leadership roles throughout the years and now is the Chair UDI ER Shallow Utilities committee at DES Engineering. She has two wonderful children that she loves spending my time with. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys camping, hiking, sewing, and building things.

    Reanna has been in the land development industry for over 20 years with experience in both the private and public sectors. She is a Senior Project Manager at Qualico and has been working there for over 12 years managing community development. ​

    She goes above and beyond to create mentorship opportunities and is always willing to share her experience and knowledge to help internal and external colleagues. Reanna believes in the power of building connections with others in the industry, including volunteering time with local committees. She believes in building relationships within municipalities, consultants, contractors, and builders and is a strong advocate of picking up the phone as these connections will support the partnerships required to be successful in our industry.​

    In her spare time, Reanna loves to travel, golf, and spend time with her two children.

    Janelle is responsible for providing direction, guidance, and leadership for marketing and communication initiatives within Maclab Developments. She manages day to day marketing activities and is responsible for developing key marketing strategies, executing market research and development, and overall project planning and execution. She leads communication planning and acts as an ambassador for the company. Janelle collaborates closely with key stakeholders, business networks, and her team to ensure alignment with the business and brand strategy. ​

    She strives to create long term relationships with industry partners and is a dedicated team member. Janelle graduated from MacEwan University and is currently studying at the University of Alberta. Outside of work she enjoys golfing, traveling, reading and spending quality time with her family. ​

  • Secretary

    Randi has been in the land development industry for over eight years. Every summer in between university terms, she worked as an estimator at a precast company while also being the business team lead of a university robotics club. Five years later, she finished with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Hardware Engineering. Even though Randi loved her degree and the knowledge she learned, she also appreciated the industry she was in at the time. After graduation, she got a job at EMCO Waterworks to work in sales. ​

    In 2022, Randi was fortunate enough to jump into the contractor side of the industry at Degner Construction as an estimator and project coordinator. Randi has always been the youngest employee at all the companies she has worked for. She strives to do the best she can while also taking the time to have fun. In her free time, you can find her shooting her compound bow, hunting, fishing, or enjoying a nice weekend outdoors with her friends and family.

    Petrea has been involved in the engineering consulting world in Alberta since 1997. In her career, she has worked as a survey crew chief, an arterial road designer, a design team lead, a project manager and is currently a Vice President with Invistec Consulting Ltd. She has been at Invistec for over six years and loves the work she does. Petrea is very proud of the work that this industry has done to shape the communities we live in and look forward to seeing the changes the members of our group bring forward through their careers.​

    Petrea has two beautifully grown-up children and a wonderful husband, plus one crazy dog that will always be part of the family. She grew up on a farm in north central Saskatchewan and is a serious Roughriders football fan (are there any other kind?). Since there is no hockey in the 306 of Saskatchewan, Petrea has adopted the Oilers as her winter team. When Petrea is not working, you can find her riding around town on her motorcycle!

    Maria has been working in the legal survey area of land development since 2007 when she arrived in Canada. Maria was born and raised in Colombia and holds a Venezuelan Geomatics Engineering degree. After moving to Canada, she started working as a drafter in a small survey company in St Paul, Alberta. St Paul quickly felt too small for a city girl, so she moved to Edmonton in 2008 where she was able to validate her degree and work towards acquiring her commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor while working within the industry. Currently, Maria is the Practice Lead for the Land Surveying Department in Arcadis/IBI where she’s been working since 2013, helping developers register all the necessary plans for a multitudes of neighbourhood in Edmonton and surrounding areas. ​

    In her spare time, Maria loves hand crafting and reading paranormal romance books. She has read over 200 books of this genre. When she is not enjoying time with her two beautiful children and husband, you can usually find her reading.

    Jennifer is currently an account manager for ATS traffic on the construction vertical. She helps road construction companies complete jobs with a 'safety first' mindset along with selling top quality products to support their success. Prior to this role, she was an entrepreneur for 20 years, owned three successful businesses, and enjoyed it thoroughly. She loves to connect with people as well as being a connector herself. She strongly believes in the art of networking and expanding her contacts. ​

    Jenn is very passionate about YEG WILD and what it represents. The support it gives women in different areas of the land development industry is incredible and the way it unites so many talented ladies is inspiring. A fun fact for Jenn is that 20 years ago, she worked for ATS as a traffic control specialist - she had the privilege to work on the first leg of the Anthony Henday and the beginning stages of the LRT. Fast forward to 2023, and Jenn is back finishing LRT projects and working maintenance on the now completed Anthony Henday. She has come full circle and is incredibly excited to see what other great projects come her way. If you have ever taken a flagging course, you might recognize her!

    Kelsey Siemens has been in the Land Development industry for over five years and has spent all of her time with Rohit Land Development. She is currently their Sales Manager, handling lot sales and administration for all Rohit Land projects in the portfolio. Kelsey started with Rohit in Marketing, which is where her background and formal education lie, where she has had the pleasure of working on multiple award winning communities and campaigns.

    She has a Bachelor of Communication Studies from MacEwan University, a Radio and Television Diploma from NAIT, and the Certified Marketing Specialist™ Designation from the Canadian Marketing Association.

    In her free time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her husband and their pets, often dragging them to new communities to check out the trails! She loves to travel and experience new things (who doesn’t!) … oh, and ask her about her hole in one!

    Janet is a Certified Engineering Technologist with over 5 years of experience in the municipal and land development industry. Armed with a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), she swiftly rose from an Engineering Design Technologist to a Project Coordinator at Aplin Martin. Janet's journey in various roles such as Engineering Design Technologist, Field Inspector, and Project Coordinator has showcased her adaptability and proficiency in tackling diverse challenges within the field. Her design background further strengthens her comprehensive understanding of land development, enabling her to approach projects with a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving.

    Beyond her professional endeavors, Janet is actively involved in several committees, including the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Program Advisory Committee. She also participates in working groups for the Urban Development Institute (UDI) and the Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) Government Relations Committee. Janet's commitment to professional development and industry advocacy underscores her dedication to catalyzing positive change and advancing the collective success of the land development community.

    In her leisure time, Janet enjoys hitting the gym, savoring diverse cuisines, and indulging in her passion for learning Korean! Her vibrant pursuits outside the office add a touch of WILD flair to her character, reflecting her dynamic and multifaceted personality.

    Triona has worked in the land development industry for ten years since moving to Canada from Ireland. Her first role was as a Residents Association Manager at Brookfield Residential and was involved in the construction of the Community Facilities in two master planned communities - The Orchards in Ellerslie, and Chappelle Gardens. It was an amazing opportunity for Triona to be part of the team constructing these award-winning communities in Edmonton. In 2017, Triona moved towards her current role as a Land Development Manager at Melcor Developments and has not looked back since. She is passionate about her work and is currently developing the Jensen lakes community, and part of the team constructing the first man-made lake in St Albert. ​

    Building communities has been an extremely rewarding career for Triona, and she has been lucky to have work alongside so many great leaders in this industry. She has recently been elected as trustee to the Irish Sports and Social Society and has helped with many cultural events over the years.

    Lori-Lynn's passion for urban development can be traced back to building elaborate playmobil neighbourhoods surrounded by wooden train tracks at age five. For the past 23 years, she has had the privilege of contributing to building communities where people live, work and play in both the Edmonton Metropolitan region of Alberta and the Metro Vancouver area of British Columbia. ​

    She is a professional engineering technologist and received her Civil Engineering diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2000. She has worked in the industry as a development manager for land development firms and as a consultant, specializing in the project management of land development subdivision design and urban infrastructure works. Currently, Lori-Lynn is a senior project manager at IBI Group in Edmonton, and part of a team of planners, engineers and architects passionate about creating livable, sustainable, technologically advanced urban environments.​

    When she's not working, she is an avid golfer and weightlifter. She loves to travel - exploring cities and the wilderness in equal measure and enjoys painting in acrylic, encaustic, watercolor and drawing pencil. If you're lucky, you could hear her play the guitar and ukulele badly. Lori-Lynn is a mom of two amazing children, age 23 and 20, who are experts in their own right and continually teach her something new everyday.
